Michael has been dedicated to teaching for the past 30 years; understanding the uniqueness of each student, hoping to inspire, working towards achieving individual results.
Michael performed locally in the Royal Garden Trio for the soundtrack of the DIA commercial. He is a mainstay chamber musician and traditional jazz cellist in Detroit. He has performed nationally at The Smithsonian, The Kennedy Center, The Hollywood Bowl, as well as appearances on A Prairie Home Companion, hosted by Garrison Keillor

Hobbies/Interests
Vintage recordings of hot jazz, and classical music recorded between two world wars, often on period equipment (ie, victrolas), classic literature.
