Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn
-Xun Kuang
From the time I was able to talk, I was singing. I’ve strived to fill my life with more and more music, and have come to love sharing that music with others. Through teaching piano and voice, my goal is to help each student realize their full potential, and feel confident in their musical abilities. I use a classically based technical approach to build students’ skills so they may be comfortable playing and performing in any musical style.Everyone has the ability to grow in their musical abiliies, and I have been honored to be a part of that growth for so many individuals.
I received a Bachelor's of Arts in Music from Oakland University in 2022. During my time at Oakland, I enjoyed being a part of the Oakland Chorale, and Oakland's opera productions of Street Scene and Dialogues of the Carmelites. I've also enjyed participating in many musical productions, including My Fair Lady, Mary Poppins, Annie, and The Sound of Music. Prior to attending Oakland University, I enjoyed training in ballet, and playing the clarinet in band.
Currently, I am an active performer in Metro-Detroit, both as a soloist and a chorister. I teach at McCourt's Music five days a week and typically see 30-40 students on a weekly basis. I work with vocal students 6th grade and up, and piano students 2nd grade and up, and I am passionate about leading each student to their full music potention.
Hobbies/Interests
Outside of music, I enjoy baking and cooking, and hanging out at home with my dog (Vanilla Bean), cat (Elsie), and guinea pigs (Chuck, Jeff, and Thin Mint).
