Learning to play an instrument is not difficult; it is simply unfamiliar.

Philip is a talented drummer based in Detroit, MI.  He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in Jazz and Contemporary Improvisation.  Philip has been teaching priviately since 2021 in a variety of settings, including schools and private academies, and is well versed in the use of notation software.  Notable playing experiences include appearances at the Detroit and Lansing Jazz Festivals, as well as performing at premiere jazz clubs such as the Blue Llama, Dirty Dog, and Dizzy's in New York City.    He is an active performer, playing jazz gigs, wedding bands, pit orchestras and church performances.  He also performs with his own trio, and just released an EP which you can listen to on Spotify below.

Philip enjoys roller blading, skiing, mountain biking, dogs, video games,and cars
