Troy & Waterford – $25 per half hour

Dave is a graduate of the Troy school system, and has taught private trumpet lessons in that district since 1980. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Oakland University in education, and a master’s degree in trumpet performance. He has taught elementary through high school band since 1989. Considered by some to be “The Master”, Dave has an excellent formula for teaching, and is proud to say that 9 out of 10 first chair high school trumpeters in Troy were his students. He owes his success and skills to the master instructors who taught him, such as Gordon Simmons, James Underwood, and Bill Nevit.

Dave has performed with jazz, orchestral, pop, and vocal groups all over Metro Detroit and, yes, has even played in his own polka band. Since the birth of his daughter Danielle, he has reduced his performance schedule to devote himself to her raising, but is still staying busy with educating his students.
