Sam is a Jazz Trombone Performance Major at Wayne State University where he was awarded a full tuition scholarship for the program based on his audition. Sam first started playing trombone in the fifth grade and has continued ever since. During high school, he played in various youth ensembles with the Detroit Symphony, such as the Detroit Symphony Youth Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Jazz Orchestra. He has performed at the Detroit Jazz Festival with artists such as Keyon Harrold, as well as with the Four Freshmen and other notable trombonists in the area including Ron Kischuk, Ed Gooch, Vincent Chandler, and Dennis Wilson. Sam has been teaching privately since 2019.
Hobbies/Interests
Sam’s interests include swimming, and playing with his dogs. He also enjoys biking, cad games and hanging out with friends.
